About "Resilience & Reinvention": The 2022 National Convening is a three-day event dedicated to advancing EdLoC’s mission and values. Our theme "Resilience & Reinvention" will focus on tackling the complexities of building generational wealth by promoting collaborative efforts among leaders of color in education and across public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Main stage conversations will feature social change visionaries and education innovators who are working to break down existing systemic barriers to progress. Smaller forums and sessions will provide the space for us to collectively learn and explore emerging research and practices to advance policy change, increase access to funding, and remake public education in a way that liberates our histories and centers economic development and wellness within school and community design.
Join us for three days of connection, collaboration, and culture! Together we can ensure that young people of color are earning more, building wealth, and thriving.
Who Attends: Senior leaders of color across sectors who are explicitly focused on dismantling systemic barriers to academic and economic advancement and success of young people of color. We are educators, policymakers, nonprofit executives, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, financial experts, and social impact leaders. The convening is designed for members of the EdLoC network but is open to the general public who are inspired by EdLoC's mission and seeking to influence change in their field.
Why You Should Attend: There's nothing like being in a room filled with values-aligned leaders who not only look like you, but who also share your ambition to disrupt the status quo for youth and families of color. This is EdLoC's flagship event of the year, with more than 750 members invited to attend. This is more than a conference -- it is an experience where you can:
- Develop and strengthen relationships with other changemakers of color.
- Learn from cross-sector experts, leading thought leaders, and admired social change influencers.
- Identify collaborative opportunities to advance your leadership, impact your organization, and benefit the communities you serve.
- Gain new insights, perspectives, relevant research, and practical tools.
- Renew your spirit and celebrate our vibrant cultures!
