CONGRATULATE: 2023 Charter Schools Program Grant Recipients
The U.S. Department of Education announced grant recipients for the FY 2023 Charter Schools Program (CSP). In all, the Department announced $572 million to be awarded over the next three to five years. Grants are used to open, expand and replicate high-performing public charter schools across the country, as well as provide support for charter school facilities.

A few months ago, U.S. Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona promised to visit a public charter school before the end of the year, We were thrilled to welcome him when he visited Mark Twain Dual Language Academy in San Antonio, TX, last week! Charter schools are an important part of public education and Twain Dual Language Academy is just one of many shining examples.
What: A webinar featuring Assistant Secretary Roberto Rodríguez to discuss the U.S. Department of Education’s priorities for teacher diversity. Following his remarks, a panel of leaders from the Center for Black Educator Development, Educators for Excellence, and an affiliate school of UnidosUS will discuss how to recruit, support, and retain teachers of color in charter schools.

What: Learn more from educators and advocates as they discuss Denver’s innovative school models that provide choice to families and autonomy to school leaders.
What: Scholarship program for students first time college students who have experienced homelessness. Awardees will receive a scholarship of $2,500, opportunities to engage in state and federal advocacy, and more.
