UPDATE: Federal CSP Receives $20 Million Proposed Funding Increase
We thank the House Appropriations Committee for recognizing the incredible value of public charter schools by proposing a total of $20 million in increased funding for the federal Charter Schools Program (CSP).
Over the past five years, charter schools have been the only public schools to experience enrollment growth, demonstrating their unique appeal and success.
We also call for an increase in Title I funding for schools serving low-income families. The majority of charter school students benefit from Title I funding.
The 2024 National Charter Schools Conference in Boston brought together more than 4,300 charter school leaders, educators, and advocates for four days to learn, share, feel a sense of community, and celebrate our collective power.
Attendees left the conference with new insights to apply to their work and a deeper understanding of the importance and potential of advocacy.
We look forward to seeing everyone next year in Orlando, June 29-July 2!
EXPLORE: "Flex" Charter Schools Meeting the Needs of Families
The impact of remote and hybrid work on American life has led to a growing interest in applying similar flexibility to education. The case study, In Our New Hybrid World, Where Do Public Charter Schools Fit?, explores the concept of flex-based learning.
Flex-based learning is a model that blends in-person and at-home instruction to provide a customizable and personalized education experience for students.
Flex-based learning allows parents, teachers, and students to tailor their educational journey according to their individual needs and interests.
Charter schools nationwide are gearing up for another fantastic year of learning. Families are choosing charter schools and enrollment continues to grow, with four million students now attending these unique public schools.
