This week, we commemorate Juneteenth, a pivotal day in American history marking the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
To honor this day of liberation and reflection, we encourage you to deepen your understanding of Juneteenth and its significance. Visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s website to explore their extensive resources on Juneteenth, including articles, historical documents, and virtual exhibits.

What: Hear from panelists as they discuss strategies that policymakers and administrators can use to foster integration. These include establishing universal ECE programs, braiding different strands of public funding, allowing tuition-paying families to enroll in public programs, attracting families across neighborhoods or district boundaries, and creating two-way dual language immersion programs.
